On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Principal Project Planner (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract which is a hybrid role so does require up to 3 days a week in the London office

As a Principal Project Planner, your main responsibilities will be:
- Work with stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are defined.
- Help provide clarity on key milestones to define what, when and how activities will be organised to ensure the outcomes can be achieved.
- Lead on all aspects of project planning, including the development, updating and monitoring of plans and schedules.
- Identify tasks, activities, interdependencies and outputs.
- Work with the project team to track and monitor progress against the plan throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop clear vision and standards and champion the use of best practice project planning standards, tools and processes.
- Apply advanced knowledge in the discipline of planning for the analysis and successful resolution of risks and issues and identification of opportunities.
- Provide guidance and specialist advice to the Project Manager on selection of planning approach, tools, processes and proportionality.
- Identify and lead the introduction of industry standard best practice.
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience as a planner working within a busy team across either public or private sectors
- P6 Primavera experience and skillset
- Stakeholder engagement at all levels across the business
- Microsoft office suite including excel
- Strong self starter with a pro active approach to all duties
Desirable Skills
- Experience as a planner within the Rail sector is highly beneficial
- Experience with Acumen Fuse would also be highly beneficial
