Description & Requirements
On behalf of the Met Office, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month hybrid contract based out of Exeter.
The successful candidate will have an expectation of 3 day per week in the office and the remainder will be working from home.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Delivery: Lead the project to deliver agreed outcomes on time, within budget and to quality standards.
- Project Management: Provide day‑to‑day leadership of the project and project team.
- Business Case: Coordinate development and approval of the project business case.
- Financial Control: Track and manage delivery within agreed budgets.
- Resource Management: Plan, schedule and deploy resources to meet delivery milestones.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Identify key stakeholders and build strong, effective relationships.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, manage and escalate risks and issues, implementing mitigations as required.
- Governance & Reporting: Produce clear reporting to support governance and informed decision‑making.
- Assurance: Establish and support appropriate project assurance arrangements.
- Professional Practice: Seek guidance, support and best practice from the wider project community.
- Project Controls: Develop and maintain project plans, controls and milestones, tracking and reporting progress.
Essential:
- Deep understanding or property projects
- Strong leaderships skills
- Stakeholder management and stakeholder management skills at all levels
- Strong understanding of CDM regulations
- Can demonstrate experience of delivering a project of medium complexity using standard procedures and methodologies
Desirable:
- Experience of working in the Public Sector
