Description & Requirements

On behalf of UK Shared Business Services (UKSBS), we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a three month contract. This is a hybrid working role (one day per week office based - Swindon).


Job Purpose:


We are seeking a Project Manager to lead, plan and oversee key projects within UKSBS. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and meet the outlined scope.


This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage teams and resources across various projects.


The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver who can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining excellent communication with stakeholders.


As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Responsible for the successful delivery of allocated technical project(s) or taking responsibility for a workstream or work package as part of a large organisational and system transformation programme within the UKSBS Portfolio, delivering on time, within budget and to the agreed quality, and realising the projected benefits
  • Leads complex and/or politically sensitive projects from inception to delivery into live service, maintaining project momentum and focus
  • Establish and maintain the appropriate project governance, set up and manage delivery teams in a matrix structure and support and coach key team members in delivering the project(s) successfully
  • Utilise effective project management disciplines and management techniques to ensure successful delivery, including project definition, planning and scheduling, task, risk and issue management (RAIDDA), dependency management, change management, financial management, stakeholder management and reporting
  • Agreeing plans, tasks and dependencies, identifying and escalating any major deviation from the agreed plan, and ensuring the completion of each gateway, including the deliverables, and gaining approval to start the subsequent stage
  • Flexible in using Agile and Waterfall approaches, as appropriate to the project
  • Communicate information about the project to the organisation(s) and Stakeholder groups as necessary, ensuring that the required project resources are understood and resolving any conflicts escalated by the project resources, client or supplier.


Essential:


  • Good working knowledge and experience of using Project Management frameworks, disciplines, and policies (e.g. Agile, SAFe, PRINCE2 or PRINCE2 Agile, Managing Successful Programmes).
  • Knowledge of people change management implications, techniques and practices.
  • Good range of technical, business and commercial knowledge.
  • Good understanding of risk management, including methods and techniques for the assessment and management of risk
  • Proficient understanding of Stakeholder management tools and techniques.
  • Competent using Jira and MS Project


Desirable:


  • ERP or complex IT systems delivery experience.
  • Knowledge of business processes and the principles of IT systems.
  • Knowledge/experience of service organisations and their underpinning technologies.
  • Knowledge of different business functions and the commercial drivers of third parties.
  • Knowledge/experience of Business Analysis techniques.
