Description & Requirements

On behalf of DWP we are looking for a Senior Digital Performance Analyst for a 6 month (Inside IR35) contract. Hybrid working with 3 days per week required in either Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham or Sheffield.


The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Working with DWP, you will be helping us to drive our priorities to:

As a Senior Digital Performance Analyst you set the highest standards in quality analysis to ensure services that meet the Government’s Digital by Default Service Standard.


You will be responsible for delivering high-quality and innovative analysis in relation to digital services and maximising the value of the Department’s data and contributing to the development of new skills and procedures within the Digital Performance Analyst community. You will provide analysis, tell data stories and build relationships that drive evidence-based decision making and create/maintain a data-driven performance culture for the Department’s digital services.


As a Senior Digital Performance Analyst your main responsibilities will be to:


  • Help services translate business requirements into well-defined analytical problems that can be solved.
  • Validate/assure analytics configurations and contribute to overall web analytics protocols used across services.
  • Identify additional data sources that can be used to measure performance.
  • Introduce innovative analytical solutions to uncover previously unidentified or hard to isolate insights.
  • Understand the data problem the service needs to solve or question that needs to be answered and implement data collection and analysis solutions to test a hypothesis.
  • Ensure data dissemination is in line with Departmental and UK Statistics Authority guidance.
  • Work with other analytical professions to ensure data integrity and proactively identify data and reporting issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and tell actionable stories and provide insights from data to stakeholders and the team, to inform user-centric design decisions.


Essential:


  • Background and experience within Analysis related roles.
  • Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • SQL experience.
  • Google Analytics experience.
  • Experience of working with User Research.
  • Experience of creating and working with dashboards.


Desirable:


  • Looker Studio / Power BI experience.
  • Public Sector / GDS experience.
  • Experience of working with AI technology.
