Description & Requirements

On behalf of GLD we are looking for a Paralegal (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract on a hybrid basis (3 days per week from London, Leeds, Bristol & Manchester)

 

As a Paralegal your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Provide legal support to lawyers across advisory, transactional and/or litigation work.
  • Carry out legal research and present findings to support advice and decision-making.
  • Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence and first drafts of advice under supervision.
  • Support case and matter management, including document handling, filing and use of case management systems.
  • Assist with large-scale legal projects, including legislation, procurements, litigation and cross-government work.
  • Help maintain and develop knowledge management resources, ensuring information is accurate and accessible.
  • Liaise with clients, counsel, parliamentary teams and other stakeholders as required.
  • Support Business Management colleagues when business needs arise.
  • Ensure work is delivered to a high standard, on time and in line with GLD policies and values.

 

Essential criteria:

  • Some legal education, training or experience in a legal/regulatory environment.
  • Interest in legal work and the context in which GLD operates.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a pressurised environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe.

 

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience using legal research databases (e.g. LexisNexis, Westlaw).

 

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
