On behalf of IBCA, we are looking for a Head of Knowledge and Information Management (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract which is a hybrid role so requires up to 3 days a week in either the Newcastle or Glasgow offices
The Infected Blood Compensation Authority has recently been established to pay compensation to those who have been infected and affected by the infected blood scandal. The IBCA Data Governance team sits within the wider Data Directorate, and leads on Data Protection, Knowledge and Information Management, Data Acquisition and Quality, and Information Rights and Disclosure.
IBCA is seeking a Head of Knowledge and Information Management to design, implement and maintain information management processes, standards and structures.
As a Head of Knowledge and Information Management, your main responsibilities will be:
- Oversee the entire information lifecycle from creation, storage, archiving and disposal, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the departmental records officer, ensuring all records are managed in accordance with statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Being responsible for the policies that demonstrate a safe and assured approach to managing data, while advising on risks and best practice, you’ll support the delivery of IBCA’s objectives.
- Lead the approach to training and quality assurance of all matters relating to information management
- Manage KIM administration, including reviewing and managing retention and disposal processes
- Develop, implement and monitor an organisational KIM compliance framework
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure embed and ensure compliance with KIM policy
Essential Skills
- Experience of working in an organisation which handles sensitive personal information
- Extensive experience in records management and strategic vision
- Leadership experience and Information management
- Experience in knowledge and information management standards across government and experience of creating, implementing and embedding policies within an organisation, with a clear vision for best practice.
- Managing multiple work items of competing priority, determining appropriate levels of urgency.
- Excellent written communication skills to support the drafting of high quality and compliant policies, standards and for providing robust advice
- You should be able to think strategically and consider a range of options, and recommend the best course so as to manage delivery and organisational impact.
