AMS PSR

On behalf of the Cabinet Office, we are looking for a Senior User Researcher (Inside IR35) for a 2 month contract based REMOTELY.

Note: SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position, (and speed at which we require a postholder in situ), preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance

The Applied Data & Insight team (ADI) within the Cabinet Office sit at the centre of the Government Communications profession and are formed from a group of multidisciplinary experts from backgrounds in Digital, Data Science, Software Development, Insight & Evaluation, Behavioural Science and Communications working closely together to deliver effective data-driven solutions across government.

We are looking for a Senior User Researcher to join our team to help develop and deliver a new round of actionable insight from our 6500 users across 240 organisations. The role holder will work alongside Developers, Evaluation Managers, Behavioural Scientists and a Product Manager to design and deliver a short cycle of user research to inform a wider impact assessment of the Assist service.

The role will focus on leading the execution of planning, design and delivery of research activities to get an understanding of how our users are impacted by their use of the product, including any tangible and intangible benefits they receive. The individual will then package, present and deliver that understanding to the wider team to ensure we can continue to make user-driven decisions.

You will work to the Head of AI Products.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Plan, design and carry out research activities with users that help the team understand if/how the service impacts users and their work.
• Share this understanding with the team to inform design and development decisions.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must have experience in designing and hosting user research activities including remote usability sessions, focus groups and user journey mapping.
• Must have experience in processing user research findings into presentable artefacts for usage across the project (e.g. user personas, user stories, user journey maps).
• Must be able to work at pace within an agile team to deliver effectively and efficiently as part of a group.
