Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) we are looking for an AI Cyber Security Specialist (Inside IR35) for a 2 month (until 28/02/26) contract. Remote working with occasional travel to London or Hampshire.


In this role you will safeguard our organisation’s IT infrastructure and ensure responsible adoption of AI agents, this proposal is to engage a dedicated resource to conduct a comprehensive cybersecurity review and establish a Cyber Security and AI governance framework. This initiative will mitigate risks, strengthen defences, and provide clear policies and processes for managing AI responsibly. 


As an AI Cyber Security Specialist your main responsibilities will be to:


    Assess current IT systems, networks, and applications for vulnerabilities.

    Benchmark against industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework).

    Define policies for AI use (data privacy, ethical guidelines, compliance).

    Establish processes for AI deployment, monitoring, and risk management.

    Create accountability structures (roles, responsibilities, escalation paths).

    Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (GDPR, AI Act, etc.).

    Provide detailed reports to identify and evaluate risks of potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

    Define policies and procedures that govern how information and systems are protected and managed.


Essential:


    Strong overall Cyber Security experience.

    A good understanding of AI and its integration with Cyber Security. 

    NIST Cybersecurity Framework understanding. 

    Public Sector experience.

    Microsoft Dynamics experience.
