On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Lead Technical Architect (Inside IR35) for a 4 Month contract-based Hybrid/ in Corsham.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

As a Lead Technical Architect, your main responsibilities will be:
- Be responsible for leading the technical design of systems and services, justifying and communicating design decisions
- Assure other services and system quality, ensuring the technical work fits into the broader strategy for government
- Explore the benefits of cross-government alignment
- Provide mentoring within teams
- Provide leadership to other architects
Essential:
- Experience in designing the architecture to support secure and seamless access across multiple platforms (web, iOS, and Android), ensuring consistent functionality and user experience.
- Experience in Authentication and Authorisation- Implementing secure authentication mechanisms, such as Single Sign-On (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and role-based access control (RBAC), to protect user accounts and data.
- Ensuring the application complies with platform-specific guidelines and requirements for iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store), including security, privacy, and performance standards.
- Experience in secure data transmission- ensuring all data transmitted between the app, web, and backend systems is encrypted (e.g., using HTTPS and TLS) to protect against interception or tampering.
- Experience in device security- considering how the application handles data on personal devices, including secure storage, encryption, and protection against unauthorised access or data leakage.
- App Store Deployment experience, Supporting the process of publishing and maintaining the app on the iOS and Android app stores, including managing updates, certificates, and compliance with app store policies.
- Ensuring the application is intuitive and user-friendly across all platforms, with responsive design for web access and optimised interfaces for mobile devices.
Desirable:
- BCS certificate in Enterprise and Solution Architecture.
- CI/CD Pipeline experience.
- Key Cloak – understanding how licence issued and managed.
