On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Programme Manager (Electrical Safety Delivery) for a 12 month contract based Hybrid working (3 days per week on differing Southern based sites and remaining WFH).

Role purpose:
The Regional Programme Manager Deployment role will support Southern Region to deliver the ESD phased implementation of the Single Approach to Isolation, technology enhancements and electrical safety culture initiatives and be a key interface with the Routes teams, SRE teams and E&P maintenance teams and the Electrical Safety Delivery Programme in Route Services.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Programme Manager – Electrical Safety Delivery would be to:
- Support ESD as the main point of contact in Southern with deployment of enhancements, standards, processes, and technology. With a particular emphasis on the culture and behaviours necessary to embed the changes over CP7.
- Oversee the ESD regional deployment fund, milestones, implementation plan and reporting for Southern for CP7, includes interfacing with project sponsors i.e. NSCD.
- Be the single point of contact for gathering information from electrical safety issues in the Region to develop plans to trend and address issues.
- Lead behaviour and culture discussions/session in the Region with relevant teams and contractors.
- Lead on the creation of the Regional deployment roadmap for ESD, working with the E&P engineering to determine the deployment area boundaries, planning ahead and coordinating the initiation and go live dates across multiple deployment areas and phases, where an overlap will be inevitable.
- Collaborate with Regional and Route Business Change Managers to be inform the Regional change landscape.
Essential:
- Have a technical understanding of the electrical safety processes, whilst the role doesn’t require an engineering or operational expert, an understanding of the system and its operation to support working on the track is required.
- Be flexible in working as some night working will be required.
- Dynamic and agile individual to lead
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to govern various workstreams at a route and regional level
- Excellent interpersonal, management and communication skills
- Substantial proven experience in programme management
- Excellent knowledge of programme and project controls processes and systems
- Proven experience in managing and developing teams to achieve high performance
- Proven ability to work with senior industry stakeholders to understand their requirement.
- Knowledge of the rail industry and its regulatory framework
- Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures
- Experience of working in a commercial environment in a programme management role (desirable)
