On behalf of FCDO, we are looking for a Policy Development and Support Specialist (Inside IR35) for a 12 months contract based in London 2 days per week.

As a Policy Development and Support Specialist your main responsibilities will be:
- Analyse and enhance existing cyber and information security policies, identifying gaps and recommending improvements aligned with organisational goals and industry standards.
- Conduct data collection and analysis to inform policy development, support decision-making, and measure the effectiveness of security initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure policy alignment with regulatory requirements, organisational risk appetite, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Design and propose new policies and frameworks to strengthen the organisation’s security posture, ensuring resilience against evolving cyber threats.
- Lead agile delivery of policy projects, including planning, execution, and milestone reviews, with weekly sprint assessments and monthly progress reporting.
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience in cyber and information security policy analysis and delivery, with a strong ability to improve operational processes within a security function.
- Proven project management and analytical skills, with the capability to lead and support policy development initiatives in complex environments.
- Experience working on a Cyber Transformation Programme
- Must hold active SC clearance, with substantial experience in risk and policy management within government or regulated sectors.
Desirable:
- Awareness of information security
