Description & Requirements

On behalf of the Cabinet Office, we are looking for a Digital Delivery Manager (Inside IR35) for a contract until December '26 based hybrid in Bristol 60% of the week, occasional travel to London may be required also.

This role is a part of the Falcon programme, which aims to deliver two outcomes - a modern, flexible, high quality and cost efficient official IT platform to all users across the Cabinet Office and its wider organisations and deliver a productivity suite migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365. The successful candidate will lead a multi-disciplinary team to help deliver these two outcomes using agile values and practices. As a Delivery Manager within the programme, you’ll be adept at delivering agile projects, breaking down barriers for your teams, developing plans and getting into the details to proactively make things happen when needed. You’ll be accountable for the effective delivery of complex, high risk products and services throughout the entire product life cycle, and have greater responsibility and accountability as the main point of escalation.


SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.


As a Digital Delivery Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead and support the delivery of transformation initiatives using agile and waterfall methodologies, adapting tools and techniques to meet evolving programme needs.
  • Act as a central point of contact across Falcon teams, Cabinet Office business units, and external partners to manage transitions, dependencies, and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with Programme Leads and Delivery Managers to define product roadmaps, translate them into actionable user stories, and ensure effective resource planning and evaluation.
  • Support the compilation of programme documentation, identify and mitigate risks, and assist with financial forecasting to ensure budgetary compliance and accurate cost tracking.
  • Foster collaboration across technical and support teams, remove delivery obstacles, and communicate plans and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the Delivery Manager community by sharing best practices, applying lessons learned, and supporting ad-hoc tasks that enable successful programme delivery.


Essential:

  • Proven experience delivering complex IT infrastructure and enterprise technology projects across the full product lifecycle.
  • Skilled in applying Waterfall, Agile, and Lean methodologies, selecting appropriate delivery approaches to suit project needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change effectively, balance competing priorities, and navigate ambiguity with confidence.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to facilitate challenging discussions across all levels, including senior stakeholders.
  • Experienced in matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams, fostering a productive environment, and driving delivery flow.
  • Proficient in coordinating supply chain providers and aligning resources to support successful technology programme outcomes.
