Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Home Office, we are looking for a Commercial Practitioner Inside IR35 for a 6 month contract based Hybrid working (Remote with occasional travel for key meetings)

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 


The main duties and responsibilities of the Commercial Practitioner would be to:

  • Lead and Deliver Public Sector Procurements
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes in compliance with Public Contracts Regulations (PCR) 2015, ensuring legal and procedural accuracy.
  • Develop Comprehensive Tender Documentation
  • Draft and compile all necessary tender documents, including specifications, evaluation criteria, and contract terms, tailored to each procurement.
  • Utilize E-Sourcing Platforms
  • Operate and manage procurement activities using e-sourcing portals such as Jaggaer, ensuring transparency and auditability.
  • Apply Government Frameworks and Contracts
  • Create and Manage Tender Schedules
  • Draft and maintain procurement schedules, timelines, and milestones to ensure timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to gather requirements, clarify specifications, and support successful procurement outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records, adhere to internal governance processes, and support audit readiness through proper documentation and reporting.


Essential:

  • Recent experience delivering procurements under PCR 2015
  • Experience in developing tender documentation
  • Experience with e-sourcing portals, such as Jaggaer
  • Experience of delivering Public Sector procurements
  • Recent experience of running Public Sector procurements
  • Experience of using Government contracts
  • Experience of creating tenders
  • Experience of drafting schedules
