Description & Requirements

On behalf of EANI, we are looking for a Building Maintenance Officer (Inside IR35)  for a 6 month contract. This is a remote working role (travel required to Armagh on an ad-hoc basis)


EA was established on 1 April 2015 under the Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2014. EA is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department of Education (DE) and the Department for the Economy (DfE), responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective primary and secondary education and educational services are available to meet the needs of children and young people, and for ensuring the provision of efficient and effective youth services.


Job Purpose:


Operate and maintain an effective and efficient maintenance service for all Education Authority properties.


As a Building Maintenance Officer, your main responsibilities will be to:


  • Respond on a day to day basis to requests from building users, for urgent repairs to their buildings and infrastructure including other services deemed necessary.
  • To carry out and prepare condition reports on all Education Authority properties, to ascertain maintenance requirements.
  • Prepare and supervise planned maintenance programmes, minor work projects, projection of costs, drafting of specifications and working drawings.
  • To appoint and supervise contractors of various disciplines to carry out the maintenance programme and be accountable for all contractual matters
  • Issuing works orders and certifying accounts.
  • To use the existing Education Authority estate management packages and software.


Essential:


  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations
  • Experience in Constructions/Projects
  • MS Office experience
