AMS PSR

On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Project Support Officer (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract which is a hybrid role Including up to 3 days a week onsite in Corsham

The SATCOM SKYNET Team is responsible for the sustainment and development of the MOD's strategic, worldwide communications capability. The SATCOM Delivery Team is tasked with ensuring continuity of the required capability and its future development in order to satisfy the ever-increasing demand for defence communications and to defeat the growing array of sophisticated threats.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

As a Project Support Officer, your main responsibilities will be:

• Risk Management Strategy, Processes and Procedures – Enacting the Risk Management strategy through effective use of risk processes and procedures in accordance with best practice, Departmental policy and the complexity of the change initiative.
• Stakeholder management – Provision of effective and efficient advice on PD Risks and Issues to Project/ Programme Managers. Develop a programme of regular risk and issue reviews with key stakeholder
• Project performance and controls – Support the team with general Project support and administration
• Administration – Ensure organisational tasks are carried out efficiently. Manage and monitor compliance of the project with Departmental Security, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Business Continuity and Business Planning

Essential Skills

• Proven experience of risk and issue management within a fast paced department
• Experience in the support of programmes and projects within central government
• Strong secretariat background within a busy team
• Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
• Formal project management qualification ideally ARM
• Strong self starter

Desirable Skills

• Experience working with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) is highly beneficial
