On behalf of the MoD, we are looking for an SK Ground Infrastructure Assurance Project Manager (Inside IR35) until the end of March 2027. This is a hybrid working role to be based at Corsham, with additional travel to various sites (Hampshire and Colerne).

Job Purpose:
The role of this Project Manager is to lead projects and to work within a wider project team on a day-to-day basis. This Project Manager is responsible for driving and overseeing the delivery of SATCOM/SKYNET-specific ground infrastructure projects, working with the Prime Contractor (who are responsible for the delivery and implementation of agreed solutions) to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints. The Project Manager has a key role in project governance and working with stakeholders, to ensure the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised.
This Project Manager role includes being the MOD’s ground infrastructure assurance authority and provides oversight for all ground infrastructure activity within the SATCOM programme’s ground stations, ensuring the contractor meets its contractual obligations with respect to site and plant condition and maintenance, including appropriate records and data.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
As an SK Ground Infrastructure Assurance Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Delivery – Create and lead ground infrastructure projects to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraints.
- Project Management – Day to day management and leadership of projects and the project team. Set project controls. Design the project structure appropriate to stage. Select and apply appropriate delivery methodologies.
- Business Case – Coordinate development of Business and /or Commitment Cases.
- Budget – Track delivery within budget.
- Resources – Schedule / manage resources to deliver the projects. May work independently or with a small team.
- Benefits Realisation – Ensure benefits are identified, understood, measured, tracked and owned. Ensure appropriate Benefits Realisation Strategy is in place, and monitor longer term delivery of benefits against the Business Case, where appropriate.
- Stakeholder Management – Identify key stakeholders and develop effective relationships.
- Risks & Issues – Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate.
- Governance – Provide key reports and support effective governance and decision making.
- Assurance – Support or set appropriate project assurance.
- Change Management – Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
- Guidance & Support – Seek appropriate support, guidance and coaching from the project community. Show commitment to personal development. Promote effective individual and team performance.
- Project Performance & Controls – Build Project Plan and apply appropriate project principles to deliver stated objectives. Identify and set appropriate Project Controls. Track and report delivery against milestones.
