On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Project Planner (Inside IR35) for a contract which is running to 31st March 2027 which is a hybrid role and requires up to 3 days a week onsite in Corsham

The role of the Project Scheduler & Planner is to work with stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are defined. They provide clarity on key milestones to define what, when and how activities will be organised to ensure the outcomes of a project can be achieved, with the resources available. They lead on all aspects of project planning and scheduling, which will include the development, updating and monitoring of plans and schedules. They identify tasks, activities, interdependencies and outputs for the project and work with the project team to track and monitor progress against the plan throughout the life of the project.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
As a Project Planner, your main responsibilities will be:
- Planning and scheduling – Manage, Implement and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling
- Monitoring and reporting – Manage, establish and maintain project controls, keeping the project manager aware of the project status
- Prepare project performance reports, presenting statistics
- Manage and maintaining project controls and producing project reports.
- Stakeholder- Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as lead point of contact for some external parties.
- Risks and Issues – Manage potential risk areas, working with risk managers and escalating as appropriate.
Essential Skills
- Experience across Scheduling / Project Controls within a busy planning team
- Risk Management experience and skillset, Manage potential risk areas, working with risk managers and escalating as appropriate.
- Defence experience as part of a busy team
- Stakeholder engagement - Manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and act as lead point of contact for some external parties.
- Strong self starter with a proactive professional approach to all duties
Desirable Skills
- Defence Acquisition would be highly beneficial
