On behalf of FCDO we are looking for a Power Platform Developer (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. Remote working with occasional travel to London.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) pursues our national interests and projects the UK as a force for good in the world. We promote the interests of British citizens, safeguard the UK's security, defend our values, reduce poverty, and tackle global challenges with our international partners.
We are building a customer relationship management (CRM) tool that will be used by FCDO staff to manage their external stakeholders and will include integrated event management functionality. It is being built as a canvas app using Microsoft Power Platform and will need to integrate with other FCDO and non-FCDO datasets and systems. We are looking for an experienced developer with a strong foundation in Microsoft Power Platform and modern cloud-based development practices, including Azure.
As a Power Platform Developer your main responsibilities will be to:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex Power Platform solutions (Canvas and Model-Driven Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Pages).
- Develop and maintain custom connectors and REST APIs to extend platform functionality and connect with third-party systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand complex business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Implement governance, security, Continuous Integration/Deployment and compliance best practices in Power Platform environments.
- Support the adoption of Al Builder and other emerging capabilities for intelligent automation.
- Act as a subject matter expert, ensuring code quality and contributing to agile ceremonies.
Essential:
- An active SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. (Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.)
- Technical knowledge, development skills and hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform components: Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages and Dataverse.
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400) Qualification or any relevant qualification.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-grade digital solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform and Azure, following modern software delivery practices (CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code).
- Experience in applying Agile delivery methods (Scrum, Kanban, Lean), including backlog management, sprint planning, and iterative product releases.
Desirable:
- Experience in developing CRM Systems.
- Public Sector experience.
