Description & Requirements

On behalf of UKRI, we are looking for a Finance Business Partner (Inside IR35) until End of March 2026 contract based REMOTELY with occasional travel to Swindon.

As a Finance Business Partner, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Take responsibility for specific contracts, ensuring delivery of contractual financial obligations and effective utilization of contract funds.
  • Implement and maintain the corporate system of financial control, ensuring efficient and effective financial controls within workstreams.
  • Produce accurate financial reports, management information, and month-end reports to support decision-making.
  • Actively manage risks and opportunities, oversee budget delegations, and track performance against control totals.
  • Build and manage relationships with a range of stakeholders, providing constructive ideas for process and service improvements.
  • Model future commitments, manage cost centre and project structures, and produce management information for budgeting, forecasting, and planning.


Essential:


  • Experience in similar management accounting, budgeting & forecasting role(s) and previous experience of working in a Finance environment.
  • Experience of financial modelling & controls and good IT skills, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel. 
  • Strong numeracy & analytical skills and good written and oral communication & presentation skills


Desirable:

  • Previous experience of Oracle, or of similar ERP accounting systems
