On behalf of UKRI STFC, we are looking for a Project Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based up to 5 days a week on site at the Didcot location
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is the national funding agency investing in science and research in the UK.
The ISIS Design Division has an immediate requirement for an experienced Project Engineer with project management and leadership experience to deliver bespoke research equipment. Design, analysis and development of particle accelerator, target and instrument systems is a key element in supporting the user community carrying out scientific studies at the ISIS facility.
As a Project Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:
- Leading the engineering of complex and bespoke, predominately mechanical, equipment through the complete lifecycle, from concept to commissioning.
- Delivery of complex predominantly Mechanical engineering projects.
- Project management of bespoke large-scale Mechanical engineering projects (responsible for time / cost / quality).
- Delivery of the application of Industrial Standards and Regulations, including production of risk assessments and application of risk mitigation.
- Stakeholder engagement at all levels across the business
Essential Skills
- Experience in leading the engineering of complex and bespoke, predominately mechanical, equipment through the complete lifecycle, from concept to commissioning.
- Stakeholder engagement at all levels across the business
- Exposure to project management of bespoke large-scale Mechanical engineering projects (responsible for time / cost / quality).
- A good understanding of the application of Industrial Standards and Regulations, including production of risk assessments and application of risk mitigation.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively and constructively in multidisciplinary project delivery teams.
- Strong self starter with a pro active approach to all duties
Qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical engineering or a Mechanical engineering apprenticeship + HNC or a project management qualification and experience in delivering complex predominantly Mechanical engineering projects.
