AMS PSR

On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a Category Manager Inside IR35 for an 18 month contract based hybrid working (1 day pw in Aldermaston or London office and remaining WFH)

What if you could work on something that you can’t test… but cannot afford to fail? AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. The main duties and responsibilities of the Category Manager would be:

• Preparing tender packages, conducting tender conferences, developing evaluation criteria, analysing and evaluating proposals.
• Public Procurement Regulations e.g. PCR 2015, DSPCR 2011, and the Procurement Act 2023.
• Pricing arrangements and incentivisation mechanisms e.g. target cost incentive fee.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating NEC forms of contract, including framework agreements.
• Strategic procurement.
• Working in cross-functional teams across multiple projects.
• Managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
• Proven record of delivering business objectives in line with organisation policies, on time, in full, and within budget.
• Using eProcurement systems, particularly Jaggaer and AWARD.

Essential:

• Someone to support senior category managers (end to end major procurements)  
• Implement and develop procurement strategies.     
• End to end procurement process.   
• Experience of working on highly regulated procurements 
• Working as part of a team to work through the major procurement.     
• Experience working on Infrastructure or constrution projects    
• NEC experience 
• Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels
• In procurement rather than delivery space
