Description & Requirements

On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for an Assistant Company Secretary (Inside IR35) for a 6-month contract.

Hybrid - 3 days per week in London Waterloo General Offices & 2 days remote.

As an Assistant Company Secretary, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Chief Executive, Chairman
  • Secretary will advise on Governance
  • Agreement between NWR and DfT – they make sure NWR abide by it and abides the agreement rules
  • Projects – new stations, railway lines – these will need approval – secretary is making sure that everyone knows how to write a board paper, they create agenda for committee meetings
  • Preparing board packs for the directors
  • Looking after the inbox and responding to executive leadership team related queries – ACIS or ACG

  • Comfortable in working autonomously

  • Understanding of governance
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge : subsidiary and entity governance, working knowledge with company law including 2006 Act and ECCTA 2023.
