Description & Requirements

On behalf of EANI, we are looking for a Financial Analyst (Inside IR35/PAYE) for a 3 months contract based Hybrid - 1 day attendance in Belfast office.


EA was established on 1 April 2015 under the Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2014. EA is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department of Education (DE) and the Department for the Economy (DfE), responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective primary and secondary education and educational services are available to meet the needs of children and young people, and for ensuring the provision of efficient and effective youth services.


As a Financial Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Forecast the budget requirements for current and future years for Business Areas within the Organisation.
  • Monitor spend against forecast and provide variance analysis and analytical reviews.
  • Preparation and profiling of salary and expenditure forecasts.
  • Provision of financial advice, guidance and support to business areas.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures and controls.
  • Preparation of monthly financial position report, analysis of general ledger, completion of journals, accruals and prepayments.


Essential:


  • Fully qualified Accountant with 2 years post qualification experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially excel


Desirable:


  • Financial experience in financial planning/budgeting and management accounting and cost analysis
  • Public sector finance experience
