Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Home Office, we are looking for a Senior Procurement Manager (G7) (Inside IR35) for a 9-month contract.

Hybrid - 60% in office & the rest WFH. London or Bristol office. 


This role is as a dedicated procurement specialist and requires specialist experience and knowledge of running public sector procurements. The work involved in this role entails a mixture of running central government procurements via CCS frameworks or other compliant procurement routes to meet the programme’s needs and objectives.


Responsible for procurement strategy development and running competitions or direct awards that adhere to central government department's policies. Promote best practice at all times, assisting in stakeholder management of project staff, third party legal and insurance advisors. Market engagement, supplier evaluation, tender negotiation, planning and delivery. Development and management of contract documentation, and governance input documentation. Managing risk and providing input to relevant PMO and procurement reporting.


SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. 

Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance. 


As a Senior Procurement Manager (G7), your main responsibilities will be:

  • Providing commercial / procurement advice to a range of business stakeholders.
  • Creating and driving commercial / procurement strategy.
  • Running a mixture procurement activities.
  • Building relationships with business and delivery leads.
  • Managing governance processes.
  • Escalating and managing issues and risks.
  • Writing briefs and papers.
  • Supporting junior members of the commercial team.
  • Running procurements through new Procurement Act 2023 processes or via. government frameworks (CCS, G-cloud etc.)
