Description & Requirements


On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract based remotely but does Include 3 days a week across either Reading or Paddington locations


AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defense against the most serious threats faced by the UK. Working to support the defense of our country, AWE has a clear mission to keep everyone, the environment, their products and information, sites, and everything around them, safe and secure.


SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks


As a Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:


  • Contract management across the projects
  • Project management duties across the project for building & services
  • Risk management duties
  • Opportunity management
  • Tender reviews
  • Stakeholder management across all levels of the business
  • Working in partnerships with suppliers across the portfolio of work


Essential Skills


  • Extensive experience across project management delivery with a focus on construction
  • NEC4 contracts experience and skillset
  • Contract management experience
  • Stakeholder engagement at all levels
  • Management of risk, Issues, dependencies and government across the portfolio of work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong self starter


Desirable Skills


  • Nuclear background and experience would be highly beneficial


Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
