On behalf of Defra, we are looking for a Statistician Inside IR35 for a 2 month contract based Bristol - Hybrid

The contractor will lead the analysis of data to
investigate disparities in performance appraisals and pay by gender ethnicity,
and other EDI characteristics. This will include assessing the data to determine
whether groups with different characteristics are likely to achieve different
ratings, and investigation of the drivers of any differences (including whether
there is evidence of covariance with length of service and other variables).
The contractor will also undertake gender pay gap analysis of pay data by all
EDI protected characteristics, singly and in combination, and for sub-groups
within the organisation. The contractor should be a qualified statistician or
social researcher, and it is likely they will be a member of a recognised
professional body or a current or past member of the Government Statistical
Group or Government Social Research Group.
As a Statistician, your main responsibilities will be:
Proficient in statical analysis, including choice of methods
Proficient in R, and Excel
Awareness of and ability to undertake merging of large datasets (containing several thousand rows)
Awareness of and ability to undertake data cleansing ,and
Proficient in logistical regression analysis, and chi sq
Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
