On behalf of the Cabinet Office, we are looking for a Front-End Developer (Inside IR35) for a 3 Month contract based REMOTELY.
The Cabinet Office supports the Prime Minister and ensures the effective running of government. Seeking a skilled Front-End Developer proficient in Python, Django, and Wagtail, who also has a strong background in integrations, API development, and containerization tools like Docker. As part of Project Nexus
As a Front-End Developer, your main responsibilities will be:
- Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality collaboration, content management and web applications.
- Ensuring seamless integration with third-party services and managing deployment workflows effectively. The role requires managing code using GitHub,
- Maintaining clean and organised repositories and developing RESTful APIs for application integration. Additionally, the developer will troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
Essential:
- Experienced as a Software Developer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Django, and Wagtail CMS. Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration tools is essential, as is a solid understanding of source code control systems like Git and GitHub.
- While experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript is a plus, excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a team are critical.
- The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding and hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), leveraging a variety of its services for deploying and managing scalable web applications.
- Proficiency in using AWS tools such as EC2 for computing, S3 for storage, and RDS for database management is highly desirable, as these are critical for optimising performance and ensuring the reliability of our applications in a cloud-based infrastructure.
