AMS PSR

On behalf of AWE, we are looking for a Buyer (Inside IR35) for an 18 month contract based Hybrid working (2/3 days per week in Aldermaston and remaining WFH)

What if you could work on something that you can’t test… but cannot afford to fail? AWE plays a crucial role in national nuclear security. Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.

Key accountabilities:

• Day to day buying activities, ensuring that demands are understood and met, and issues are dealt with promptly.
• Operational support of supplier relationships to ensure on time delivery and payment of invoices.
• Assisting with the data collection and validation of the Service Centre reporting within the allocated
• category structure.
• Continuously maintain the Fusion housekeeping to ensure the accuracy of purchase order data.
• Developing and maintaining working relationships and awareness with internal Supply Chain Management and key internal stakeholders, to ensure processes are adhered to and
• Management and key internal stakeholders, to ensure processes are adhered to and placement of orders.
• Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate order placement and on time delivery Delivering objectives to agreed timescales.
• Ensuring Supply Chain processes, tools and systems are understood and adhered to.
• Promoting and ensuring the use of a fully evaluated and approved supply base.
• Working with key stakeholders to ensure the speedy resolution of queries, expediting of deliveries and closing overdue commitments.
• Supporting change and championing best practice to promote the SCM function.
• Actively seeking learning and development opportunities.
• Consistently demonstrating positive behaviours in line with the company's environmental, sustainability, safety, health, security, quality and ethics standards

Essential:

• Experience of sourcing to contract
• Experience of Public Procurement Regulations
• Knowledge of end to end public procurement
• Experience of end to end tendering
• Tender evaluation experience
• Experience of System Implementations (finance)
• Previous experience in a procurement/purchasing environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of JAGGAER or Ariba
