On behalf of Homes England, we are looking for an Assistant Director for Delivery and Architecture, (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract hybrid role in London, Birmingham, Newcastle, Leeds or Bristol.

Assistant Director for Delivery and Architecture
This role is a key technology leadership position in the Homes England digital team
Key responsibilities:
•Line managing three heads of function - Enterprise Architecture (EA), Software Development (SD) and Delivery (D)), report into this role. The postholder is responsible for setting strategic direction, developing DDaT knowledge and capability for these three functional leaders and their teams.
•Representing EA, SD and D at senior level meetings within Digital and the wider agency. Developing relationships and promoting collaboration with senior leaders in the Data directorate, the Enterprise PMO and our two key change programmes Evolve and Organisational Blueprint.
•Transition Framework: We have set up a steering group and are defining the terms of reference to transition responsibility for live service support from our change programme (Evolve) into Digital. A transition lead has been appointed to support this. Leading the process to define a comprehensive approach and initiate conversations to gather engagement across Digital. The transition framework is currently specific to Evolve, with the aim to scale it across the organisation.
•Team prioritisation, management and reporting. Work with head of delivery and software development to address backlog prioritisation and future ownership of the service teams.
•Measuring performance:
ServiceNow: work with head of service management to design and deploy performance dashboard live on office monitors.
Azure DevOps: the delivery management community to discuss metrics, measurement, and the Azure dashboard.
Key senior stakeholder engagements
•Lead engagement with Evolve - our digital transformation programme - and own the transition strategy and plan. Regular meetings have been established to discuss Evolve project updates and dependencies with Digital. We have agreed to enforce a transition framework, supported by key resources (transition managers) in Digital and Evolve.
•3 Way Connect: A newly formed group between AD D&A, Evolve Head of Data & Reporting and Data Programme manager. Set up to ensure we have a forum to link Data/Evolve/Digital and to develop a relationship that would enable us to resolve dependencies and being more update on the evolution of Evolve project’s that would depend on the data platform. Key goal is to improve transparency and align on project goals.
•HR Project Board (part of Evolve): Working with Evolve delivery managers to define projects’ stage gates. To increase visibility and transparency over their projects AD D&A is a member of the project board.
•Data: Regular bi-monthly meetings with data director to discuss programme updates and dependencies with Digital. This meeting owns a collaborative approach for resource sharing and joint venture opportunities, resolves misalignments, and strengthens the collaboration between Digital and Data leadership.
•Organisational Blueprint Programme Board: Designing the future organisational operating model including Digital target operating model.
•HTB Arrears: A key change programme in the Agency. Lead regular engagement with HTB DM and our data platform PM to design a supplier management framework for this project.
