Description & Requirements


On behalf of the Cabinet Office, we are looking for a Full Stack Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 6 Months contract based REMOTELY.


The Cabinet Office supports the Prime Minister and ensures the effective running of government. The Cabinet Office is also the corporate headquarters for the government, in partnership with HM Treasury, and takes the lead in certain critical policy areas. As a Full Stack Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

You will be joining a team that develops and manages a Cabinet Office corporate platform called Workforce hub, that serves as a central data & integration platform with a frontend that allows the Cabinet Office employee to access some of the people & data. The workforce hub project was started on Aug 24 and is currently in active development. You will be working on frontend, backend and API development of the platform. You will be working as part of an Agile team to help with the development.


Essential: 

  • Proficient in Python, JavaScript, SCSS, CSS, HTML and API development
  • Experience in Data-centric project, strong SQL skills and relational database, SQLAlchemy
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, pull requests, automated tests, scripted deployment, and infrastructure as code, GitHub Action and AWS Code pipeline
  • Experience developing in the AWS cloud platform including AWS services: CloudFront, IAM, S3, RDS, IAM, API gateway and Lambda
  • Experience with developing in Wagtail is desirable.
  • Testing experience: unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, user acceptance testing - automated where time and cost effective
  • Code reviews, working in the open, proactively pulling work through
