Description & Requirements
On behalf of The Department for Transport (DFT) we are looking for an Information Officer (Inside IR35) for a contract to 31st May on a hybrid basis (2 days in London, remainder remote/WFH)
Transport matters and what we do at the Department for Transport matters. We are different people, one team.
As an Information Officer your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop and maintain the information management strategy in accordance with policy and guidance and identify and obtain the needed data and information elements required to produce analysis and information products.
- Create operational data management systems to enable effective analysis and monitoring, including data quality control protocols and standards for validation and sharing of data.
- Support in making methodological decisions and produce visual information for reporting and illustration purposes.
Information Management
- Supporting the head of information management with drafting and publishing the inquiry’s policies.
- Taking ownership of the Inquiry’s Sharepoint page and folders. Encouraging teams to store documents in the correct areas.
- Keep Information Management training slides up to date and lead on this.
- Support the head of information management with regular meetings with the head of KIM from DfT.
- To help manage the procurement and ongoing contract with Relativity / Epiq.
- Look into training around information management
- Work with The National Archives and develop inquiry Retention Schedule and Records of Processing Activity.
- Manage relationships between legal and service providers such as Epiq.
Data Protection
- To Manage the breach log alongside the head of information management
- Supporting the head of information management with drafting and publishing the inquiry’s policies.
- Keep Data Protection training slides up to date and lead on this.
Essential:
- Extensive admin experience in busy environments
- The ability to be proactive and use own initiative
- Experience with data protection is desirable
- Experience with Sharepoint is desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
