Description & Requirements

On behalf of the CPS, we are looking for a Operational Finance Manager - (Inside IR35) for a 3 month contract working on a hybrid basis with 2 days per week in the Wakefield Office.


The CPS prosecutes criminal cases that have been investigated by the police and other investigative organisations in England and Wales. The CPS is independent, and they make their decisions independently of the police and government.


Their duty is to make sure that the right person is prosecuted for the right offence, and to bring offenders to justice wherever possible.

As a Operational Finance Manager - (Inside IR35), your main responsibilities will be:

  • Project managing the team in preparing the Group accounts.
  • Responsible for the overall management review and ensuring the accounts are prepared to a high professional standard and in compliance with the relevant standards and guidance.
  • Wider stakeholder engagement with other teams and HM Treasury.
  • Managing the department’s relationship with the National Audit Office, co-ordinating the delivery of audit requirements and managing issues raised during the audit.
  • Day-to-day oversight of the Cash Management function, ensuring high quality cash forecasting and adequacy of cash funds to support payment runs.
  • Build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the department.


Essential:

  • Ideally you will be a fully Qualified Accountant
  • Accounting experience
  • Finance Management experience
  • Experience of managing a business services team
  • Leadership and Management experience
  • Experience of guiding a team through process improvement
  • Demonstratable experience and understanding of payables, accounts receivables, cash and banking functions
  • Experience of KPI management

  • Qualified Accountant

  • Public Sector Experience
  • Experience of using Oracle fusion
