Description & Requirements

On behalf of The Government Property Agency, we are looking for a Procurement Officer for a 6 Month Contract.

The role will be remote with occasional travel required for internal meetings, principally Birmingham or London.

The Government Property Agency is an Executive Agency of the cabinet office. It is changing the way the Civil Service works and is at the forefront of Government's transformation agenda; reshaping the relationship civil servants have with their place of work. The Agency is central to the delivery of key Government policies including moving 22,000 Civil Service roles out of London by 2030 and tackling climate change by contributing to the Net Zero agenda. To do this we are delivering a major change programme across the UK and consolidating our portfolio in order to save £1.4 Bn over 10 years.

To support this strategy there is a requirement for a Procurement Officer to support the establishment of key interoperable office technologies for a period of 6 months. The Procurement Officer will be expected to act autonomously and lead on the end to end procurements, reporting to the Technology Commercial Lead. These procurements will assist the GPA in deploying its interoperable office technology strategy.

As a Procurement Officer, your main responsibilities will be:

  • To conduct the full procurement process, gathering requirements, reviewing requirement documents and challenging them where required, drafting contract templates, creating SLA's and evaluation questions.
  • Expected to lead the evaluation process, award the contract and publish the required notices.
  • Expected to lead pre market engagement such as suppliers webinars and Request for Information (RFI) documents.
  • Expected to follow GPA policy, including using GPA contract management systems as well as leading on any internal approvals required.
  • Principally Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks will be used as the default sourcing option so experience in conducting procurements from CCS frameworks is essential. There will be a mixture of direct awards and further competitions so experience of obtaining value for money for the customer is key.

Essential:

  • Experience conducting end to end procurement
  • Experience conducting procurements via CCS Frameworks
  • Experience drafting contractual SLA's
  • Experience conducting tenders and competitions

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
