On behalf of Nuclear Waste Services, we are looking for an Information Management Assistant (Inside IR35) for a 12 Month contract based REMOTELY with ad hoc travel to various NWS sites.
Nuclear Waste Services brings together the UK’s leading nuclear waste management capabilities.
We have integrated the expertise of Low Level Waste Repository (LLWR), Radioactive Waste Management (RWM), and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) group’s Integrated Waste Management Programme (IWMP). This creates an organisation focused on the management of the UK’s nuclear waste, safely and securely for generations to come.We are part of the NDA group, which is undertaking the biggest clean-up project in Europe over many decades. Nuclear Waste Services is integral to this environmental clean-up mission, as we work to provide permanent answers to our country’s nuclear waste. The UK has been producing and managing radioactive waste on an industrial scale since the 1940s. However, today’s approach and capabilities for waste management need to adapt to keep pace with NDA’s decommissioning ambitions. This includes its commitment to recycle 50% of waste from decommissioning and reduce secondary wastes by around 70% by 2030.
Job Purpose
The Information Management Support Assistant will support Information Governance Services deliver core activities for NWS Transformation with regards to Information Management, Information Architecture Adoption and use.
We support the development and strengthening of relationships within the business to provide timely, regulatory, and procedural advice and recommendations to the business with regards to use and adoption of systems as well as the classifying and categorising information and records.
The Job Holder will support the Information & Knowledge Manager, IT Project Manager and project team in proactively engaging the organisation to embed and support the adoption of Information Management practices and Information Architecture.
Responsibilities
- Support the Information & Knowledge Manager and project leads with:
- Completion of planner tasks
- Minute taking in daily stand ups and project calls
- Capturing and escalating risks and issues as required
- Supporting the project team in engaging with Information Asset Owners, Information Asset Managers and Subject Matter Experts to:
- Advise on correct information governance ways of working
- Advise on the capture and interrogation of information and records that either need to be retained, archived or destroyed in line with company policies and procedures.
- Capture metadata in templates and proformas to ensure records and information can be migrated to the correct target locations successfully for each business area.
- Organise historic information held by functions to ensure it can be transferred to the new electronic filing system.
- Act as an additional Point of Contact between Information Governance Services and business functions as required.
- Work with the Records Management team to ensure Records are categorised correctly.
- Attend Working Groups as required and feedback questions to the project team to escalate and answer.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Information Management background and previous experience.
- Proficient in the use of M365 and Microsoft office applications.
- Good communication skills and experienced at communicating to stakeholders at all levels
Desirable
- Understanding of information architecture within M365.
- Understanding of metadata and records management principles.
