Description & Requirements

Senior Manager – Complex Transaction Support

Homes England | National Housing Bank
£59,631-£79,464 | Location: Hybrid 50/50

Our new headquarters are based in Leeds, however, candidates also have the option to attend our offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle or Northstowe.

Homes England launched the National Housing Bank, a new government-backed investment platform to accelerate housing delivery across England.

With £16bn in capital, it will unlock private investment, support regeneration and accelerate housing delivery across the UK. Joining now offers a rare opportunity to shape a major new national investment platform from the ground up.

As Senior Manager – Complex Transaction Support (CTS), you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of the most challenging projects in NHB’s loan and equity portfolios, where the risk profile has deteriorated, signs of distress are evident and specialist expert attention is required to deliver a solution. Projects are transferred from mainstream Portfolio Management to CTS at the point significant deteriorating risk is identified and intensive management becomes necessary.

The Senior Manager - CTS will identify critical emerging risk factors, understand and solve complex issues (which differ for every project) and develop and implement a restructuring strategy that enables homes to be delivered and investment (debt and/or equity) recovery optimised. The strategy will inform impairment assessment (predicted loss) with a consequential direct impact on the Agency’s financial reporting.

The role holder will act as a technical expert assisting and advising mainstream Investment Portfolio Managers, colleagues in other parts of NHB and Homes England (including the Land Development Team) and the Executive on investments or transactions exhibiting signs of potential or actual distress.

  • Maintain and implement the Watch List Process, ensuring accurate reporting of distressed investment activity and housing delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with transaction agreements, monitor borrower compliance, and address non-compliance promptly.
