On behalf of HM Land Registry, we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 8 Month contract based Hybrid/ Plymouth/Croydon

As a Senior DevOps Engineer - Sagemaker, your main responsibilities will be:
- Manage the Kubernetes and cloud based Shared Technology Platform consisting of AWS, Openshift and Puppet automation technologies.
- Work with the Service Teams to transform technical requirements into an effective DevOps toolchain to enable product delivery of new business services on to the Shared Technology platform.
- Create and manage infrastructure using repeatable tooling that are scalable and highly available.
- Troubleshoot issues early on in development lifecycles to ensure effective production services, escalating risks and issues where appropriate.
- In conjunction with the Lead DevOps Engineer and subject matter experts from IT Operations and relevant practises, develop and maintain IT Infrastructure to ensure the availability, integrity and performance of services.
- Act as a reference point for those technical areas in your technical specialism, and to dispose personally of complex technical points arising on operational service incidents or strategic IT development projects as required.
- Provide clear communication of how own teams’ work impacts other technical areas, end users and stakeholders.
- Provide effective management of conflict and non-inclusive behaviour within the technical team.
- Perform as a technical and behavioural role model within the IT Operations Practice and associated areas.
- Contributing to the continual improvement of the practise and the IT Operations community, supporting community members to build and maintain cohesion.
- Ensure the development of team members to meet the future needs of HMLR, addressing succession planning issues and eliminating any single points of failure
- Take the lead on the analysis and resolution of major issues and problems arising on operational services.
- Define operational processes and procedures in order to maintain the resilience and integrity of the IT infrastructure
- Identify and scope opportunities to improve technical services. Lead any resulting change activity.
- Engage in technical liaison, with customers, IT partners and suppliers.
- Take on accountability for ensuring that their technical area follows the principles of the Technology strategy.
- Make decisions to ensure that technical implementations are compatible with the aims of the HM Land Registry business strategy and be able to escalate where appropriate.
- Work with peers within the Technical Specialist community, and SLT to continually review practices and scope of the role.
- Coach and develop junior engineers.
Essential:
- Strong experience of Sagemaker Studio: supporting AWS data services such as Lambda, Glue, SQS, Athena, Kafka, ElastiCache (Redis) additionally Amazon API Gateway supporting the development of RESTful APIs.
- Experience of providing technical leadership and support within a team of DevOps Engineers.
- Supporting Linux Operating Systems, containers and containerised workloads e.g. orchestration services such as OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Ruby, Java, Python, Javascript, Go
- Infrastructure-as-code across cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Experience of DevOps working practices of Continuous Integration. Continuous Delivery and the use of version control (Git and GitLab CI)
- Configuration-as-code across cloud and on-premise environments using Terraform.
- Working in an agile environment building, deploying, supporting, and operating cloud applications (in particular AWS).
- Experience of Kubernetes
Desirable:
- Experience of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or CentOS
- Experience of Git
- Experience of automation on cloud hosting platforms.
- Experience of RedHat Openshift
